Dr Charise Deveney: DPsych (Clinical); BPsych (Hons); AMAPS

Dr Charise Deveney is the founder of Let’s Talk Psychology Practice. She is a qualified clinical psychologist from Macquarie University.

Charise specialises in the treatment of antenatal and postnatal distress including:

  • pregnancy concerns
  • adjustments to parenthood
  • pre- and post-natal emotional difficulties

Charise works closely with a number of Obstetricians on Sydney’s North Shore.  Charise is currently evaluating her group program, Managing Motherhood, that supports women in their transition into Motherhood.  Charise also lectures the Sydney University medical students who complete their obstetrics and gynaecological training at the Sydney Adventist Hospital.  Charise lectures on perinatal mood disorders.

Charise has received specialist training in working with perinatal mood disorders and working with couples dealing with perinatal loss and grief.  Please take a look at the ‘Perinatal Services’ tab for a more full description on the perinatal services provided at Let’s Talk Psychology Practice.

Charise also specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, with a particular emphasis on children and adolescents.

She completed her Doctoral research at the Macquarie University Child and Adolescent Anxiety Clinic.

Lara Winten: DPsych (Clinical) BPsych(Hons), MAPS

Lara Winten is a qualified clinical psychologist.  She completed her  Doctorate of Psychology degree at Charles Sturt University. 

Lara specialises in the treatment of adults, including eating disorders, and anxiety disorders, mood disorders. She also specializes in working with adults and adolescents to address common life stressors, including relationship and health stressors, and problems relating to self-esteem and communication.

Lara is a member of the NSW Psychologists Registration Board and the Australian Psychological Society, and has experience working in both the public and private sectors helping children, adolescents, and adults to make self-directed changes which improve their quality of life and attain individually set goals.

Lara is a supportive, compassionate and enthusiastic therapist who is dedicated to the profession, and always seeking out new opportunities for career development and education.

Lara offers weekday and after hour appointments.

Clare Martin – BPsych(Hons), Assoc MAPS

Clare Martin is a qualified psychologist known for her clinical skills, compassion and commitment to her clients. Clare has previously worked in public and private sectors, including acute hospital, community and education settings across Australia and the UK. Clare has experience working with a variety of ages and mental health problems including psychotic disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, attachment issues, low self esteem, overeating disorders, low motivation, relationship stressors and adjustment disorders.

Clare is a member of the Australian Psychologists Registration Board and an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society. Clare has shown enthusiasm for research and professional development throughout her career. She is a strong advocate of matching the right therapeutic approach to the needs of the client and working within a sensitive therapeutic relationship. In addition to individual counselling, Clare specialises in early intervention programs and in group counselling and facilitation. Clare is easy to engage with and is dedicated to providing a holistic approach to help clients achieve their goals.

Clare offers weekday, after hours and Saturday appointments.
